The upcoming depletion of oil reserves opens a challenging period for our society. The bio-refinery forms a sustainable alternative to produce chemicals and fuels. My interests encompass the bio-refinery technology and downstream processing of it, with a focus on adsorption technology.
The research I am conducting deals with the recovery of biobutanol by adsorption. I am studying the adsorption properties of porous materials by measuring in vapor and liquid phase, pure component and mixture isotherms, pulse chromatography, separations by breakthrough experiments, diffusion and desorption.
